Privacy & Cookies
The short version: we store your email, your display name and your picks. Other players see the name and the picks, never the email. Ads and analytics only happen if you say yes.
Who runs this site
Footie Blackjack is a free game run by one person, Richard Easton, in the UK. Questions or requests about your data go to richard.easton@footieblackjack.co.uk.
What we store about you
When you create an account we store your email address, a display name, and — for email sign-ups — a password hash. We never see your password itself, and we never see your Google password if you sign in that way. Alongside that we keep the four fixtures you pick each gameweek, the points those picks earn, and who you follow. That's all of it.
What other people can see
Your display name, your season points, your streaks and your picks for the current gameweek appear on the leaderboards and on your public profile. Your email address does not, and is never shown to other players. If your display name is your real name, that is the name other players see — you can change it at any time under Profile.
Cookies and local storage
Your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits. That is the only storage the game itself needs, and it is not shared with anyone. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them in the banner.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads, which is what keeps the game free. Both start with consent denied: until you accept, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and any ads you see are non-personalised, meaning they're chosen from the page you're on rather than from anything about you. Accepting allows personalised ads and visit statistics. You can change your mind below at any time. Google's own handling of data is described in their privacy and terms.
Where ads appear
Only on the pages written to be read — the landing page, how to play, picking to eleven, about, fantasy football alternative, and advertising and sponsorship. There are no ads on the pick screen, the leaderboards, your dashboard, or on sign-in and password pages.
Who else is involved
Accounts and game data are stored with Supabase. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Fixtures and scores come from football-data.org, which receives no information about you. The Support link goes to Ko-fi, and only if you click it.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account, because the game is a season-long competition and your history is the point of it. Ask us to delete your account and we delete the record — your picks, points, streaks and follows go with it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email richard.easton@footieblackjack.co.uk and we'll sort it out. If you're not happy with how we handle that, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
